Recently i just realized that my Windows Explorer was not showing thumbnails on some video files such as MP4, MPG, AVI, WMF, flv, etc. I am using Windows 11 now. I remember first time i installed the windows, the thumbnails is always shown, but i didn’t realize since when it’s no longer work. So i browsed the internet to find the solution for this, but there are so many website that give useless tips to solve this problem. I also visited a lot of forum to find the solution but i can’t find the effective way to solve this problem. I finally find the solution in low views video on youtube. Today i will give you the solution here.
1. Open your browser and type “microsoft codec tweaks”
2. Enter the first website and go to the bottom and find the download link. Or you can click this link https://www.codecguide.com/download_other.htm#codectweaktool
3. Open the software. Click Thumbnails button
4. Check all checkbox in all video formats
5. Now try to open your Windows Explorer, the thumbnails should be fixed now
